Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank

Golden Jubilee National Hospital

Hirst Landscape Architects were initially appointed to carry out a discrete piece of work to landscape the area within the immediate vicinity of the new Eye Clinic which was to be built to one side of the main entrance of the original hospital.  We were subsequently retained to provide Landscape Architectural Services for the Surgical Unit which was to be built on the opposite side of the entrance.  This provided us with the opportunity to totally reimagine the visitor experience by reconfiguring the approach and arrival providing, at the same time a refreshed brand for what was becoming a tired façade.  Whilst these projects were being progressed, we were asked to undertake a masterplan review of the entire site looking in particular at car parking, circulation, recreational amenity, and biodiversity enhancement.  A comprehensive strategy was prepared, and implementation is ongoing.
