Background
The revitalisation of the Public Realm and streetscape for two established but tired public spaces within the centre of each village. The solution for Bridge of Weir included a series of low, sandstone clad walls to provide enclosure and define seating areas. The public realm was extended by removing a large, unnecessary bus bay. The design solutions also addressed and resolved the problem of composite falls across the paving which were subtly re-configured to be DDA compliant.
The total budget for the two projects was incredibly tight, requiring an holistic approach, a keen understanding of priorities and prudent material specification to deliver all the key objectives.
