Background

This project incorporated the reprovision of a number of school sites in rural parts of Perthshire including; Aberfeldy, Crieff, Blairgowrie, Kinross as well as suburban Perth.  Hirst Landscape Architects’ assumed the role of site masterplanner, playing a leading role in the development of the site layout; the organisation of vehicular access, car parking, coach parking and drop-off, footpaths, cycle access, general circulation, servicing, sports facilities and playgrounds.  Our design approach exploited opportunities to develop these functional requirements which were laid out and incorporated into a strong landscape framework which reflected the landscape character, and the Client’s requirement for the individual sites and their surroundings.
