The Office History

Hirst Landscape Architects was formed in 1983 to offer a high quality Landscape Design Consultancy service. From it's offices, overlooking Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park, the Practice operates throughout Scotland and has also undertaken commissions for Clients based in England.

Our Clients are drawn from a wide range of organisations in both the public and the private sectors, resulting in projects covering a broad spectrum of landscape design architecture. Hirsts possess the skills, expertise and resources to enable it to respond to enquiries of any size and complexity from Feasibility Studies and Environmental Impact Assessments to the delivery of sophisticated projects on the ground.

The Practice has gained a reputation for its high quality design service and the ability to deliver projects of the highest quality on the ground on time and within budget. Our work has been rewarded with a number of local and national design awards including three B.A.L.I. (British Association of Landscape Industries) Awards.

In May 2007, Hirst Landscape Architects changed its status with Paul Miller rejoining the Practice as a Partner.

Our commitment to quality is reflected in the office systems we employ. In 1997 Hirst Landscape Architects was the first such practice to be accredited an Investor in People; an accolade which has been reaffirmed on two occasions since through a formal re-recognition procedure. We also operate QA procedures, compliant with BS EN ISO 9001.
