The Office History

Hirst Landscape Architects was founded by Simon Hirst in 1983. Since then, the Practice has developed a reputation for its high quality design service and the ability to deliver projects on the ground on time and within budget. As a result, our work has been rewarded with a number of local and national design awards including three B.A.L.I. (British Association of Landscape Industries) awards and a Civic Trust Commendation. In May 2007, Hirsts became a Partnership.

From it's offices, overlooking Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park, the Practice undertakes commissions throughout Scotland and the UK. Our Clients are drawn from a wide range of organisations in both the public and the private sectors, resulting in projects covering a broad spectrum of landscape architecture. Hirsts possess the skills, expertise and resources to enable it to respond to enquiries of any size and complexity and this is reflected in our project portfolio.

We aspire to excellence in the provision of our service, remaining focussed on client needs and aspirations and endeavouring to offer the best advice in everything we do.

Our commitment to quality is also reflected in the continuing professional development of our staff. In 1997 Hirsts became the first Landscape practice in Scotland to be accredited an Investor in People; an accolade which has been reaffirmed on two occasions since through a formal re-recognition procedure.
